Greetings ghosts and ghoulies and welcome to The Theatre of Terror the home of horror comic news, reviews, classic comic scans and creepy art from around the world. Just remember, it's not for the nervous!
If anyone read the post I made regarding the comeback of a character from classic British comics, and is now wondering where it’s disappeared to, I’ve deleted it.
It seems the person who posted something in his blog about it originally, had jumped the gun slightly, so I’ve got rid of it for the moment to spare any blushes.

The first issue of the promosing looking London Horror Comic was released last week in the UK (Thursday 5th September 2008). It got a very respectable 4/5 in the latest SFX magazine here in the UK.
More info on Charlie Brooker’s Dead Set taken from here.
The drama is set in a Britain where the walking dead are attacking the living. It stars Jaime Winstone (Donkey Punch, Goldplated) as a production runner working on a fictional series of Big Brother who tries to fend off the walking dead alongside the remaining housemates, her producer boss Patrick (Andy Nyman, Severance) and boyfriend Riq (Riz Ahmed, Britz).
Dead Set also features a range of cameo guest appearances including Davina McCall and several former Big Brother housemates.
In Dead Set the Big Brother house suddenly becomes one of the few remaining safe places in the country, with the contestants blissfully unaware of the horrific events unfolding outside. Until an eviction night where all hell breaks loose…
Over the ensuing days, in a cruel echo of the game show that they thought they were entering, the contestants fall victim, one by one, to the hungry masses outside. Staying alive requires teamwork – which is tricky when you’re a group specifically selected by TV producers to wind each other up.
It’s apparently five episodes long, (not six as previously posted), but four of those episodes are a half hour in length and one is an hour long.

Charlie Brooker, Guardian critic, host of BBC4’s Screenwipe and one time cartoonist for Oink! comic, has written a new six-part zombie thriller to be shown on the UK’s E4 channel later in the year.
Dead Set will apparently be set in the Big Brother house during a zombie outbreak. More details soon, but for the moment, here’s a couple of pics nabbed from Mr. Brooker’s MySpace profile…
Jaime Winston as Kelly.
Warren Brown as Marky (on screen); Zombie (in gallery).
It is, of course, a remake of the 1941 original starring Lon Chaney Junior. Here’s the plot from imdb…
Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman, is lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father, Talbot sets out to find his brother… and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself. Talbot’s childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother’s fiancée, Gwen Conliffe, tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline has come to investigate.
Earlier this year, Max himself posted a couple of blog entries on his myspace profile about this disturbing story, along with the first three episodes. Survival‘s run in the 1980s Eagle comic began the week after the Thirteenth Floor finally came to an end. The story is about a killer virus which wipes out most of humanity, leaving only a few surviving children.
