Theatre of Terror - 2 months on

by Ghastly McNastyIts been about 2 months now since the Theatre of Terror was created. I’m after some feedback from anyone who reads this post, contributors, readers, and any type of user:
- How do you think the blog is going so far?
- Is are posts on the blog of any interest to you?
- Are you happy with the blog or would you rather have a forum?
- What sort of stuff would you like to see on the blog?
- What can we do to improve it?
- Do you like the design/layout. Easy to navigate/ understand?
I suppose im wondering if the blog is a success. Would be interested in any opinions.

How do you think the blog is going so far?
– Well, there’s a distinct lack of community feeling, I found the old bftd forum much better. To be honest I don’t visit very much these days but I wonder if that’s got a lot to do with the fact that I don’t think I can contribute much any more? I have left a few comments against some of the film reviews but I doubt anyone has read them.
Is are posts on the blog of any interest to you?
– Hmm I’m confused by your reference to the blog - do you mean the entire site? or are you saying there’s a blog section, because if so I haven’t found it yet!
Are you happy with the blog or would you rather have a forum?
– On balance, a forum was better.
What sort of stuff would you like to see on the blog?
– I like the content of the site - film reviews, appropriate comic stuff, but I just feel like there’s no community here. The spark is gone.
What can we do to improve it?
– Draw in the visitors to a more contributory role? I’m not sure how to best improve this. I like the serialised comic scans (Monster for now but I guess you’ll be releasing more?), the movie news/reviews, etc. Maybe make the user feedback more prominent?
Hope this helps, not trying to be negative, just want to give you some honest feedback! It’s all IMO anyhow!

This is exactly the kind of response im looking for, thanks Spankers. I think i need to fire up a new forum. However i dont think we can get a tribute comic off the ground, so is it worth having a forum? It would be a forum without a real purpose other than chat and would people want that?
(I’m referring to this section of the website as ‘the blog’)

If it came down to a choice between a blog and a forum, I think I’d have to say I’d prefer a forum too.
I think the blog as it is right now is a bit unfocused and, (apart from the Eagle and Scream stuff), doesn’t offer people much more than stuff they can find elsewhere online.
In my opinion, Scream is the reason most people visit the site, and if they want to reminisce about the comic or ask questions about a specific story, a forum gives them more opportunity to do that.
This blog thing is definitely better for showcasing comic strips, but a forum is way better for feedback and interaction.
I think we should have both.

Incidentally, I’ve never been entirely sure if Italian Spiderman is entirely appropriate for inclusion here, but I like it, so I thought I’d post all the episodes here anyway. So there. :p

Yes, I liked the community feeling on the old forum as well, not sure what the focus of Theatre of Terror is, but I agree that the focus on “Scream” probably was a drawing card for readers on the old site.
