Based on a character from the popular Scream story The Drowning Pond, this idea was developed in response to copyright limitations forced on us by Egmont Ltd, the current owners of all Scream characters and stories.

The Scream team in the the forum were originally hoping to create the 16th issue of Scream and continue the legacy from where it ended back in 1984. Unfortunately we were banned from using any stories, characters and artwork in our new edition of Scream.

This was a severe blow to our comic aspirations, however, we swore to fight on.

Unable to use existing Scream characters we we began to develop our own. The first is 'Matthew Hopkins' the Witch Hunter from the Library of Death story. As a genuine historical character we could use this Scream character for our own tribute comic. Two fingers to Egmont!
